New Faces, New Possibilities
Great research starts with curious minds and fresh perspectives. We are excited to have Qing Xie, Jialin Deng, Yiyang Lei, Jie Yang, Xinyi Liu, and Junxi Pang on board. Here’s to the discoveries and achievements we’ll share together! September 2026
Latest work in Energy Storage Materials
In our latest work, we developed a rapid screening-to-validation strategy for zinc–bromine flow batteries, enabling efficient molecular selection of bromine complexing agents and achieving improved bromine regulation, stable high-concentration operation and high volumetric energy density. June 2026
Recent JMCA Emerging Investigator Paper
This JMCA Emerging Investigator paper marks five years of Dr. Wu’s independent research and presents our recent work on rational carbon-host selection for Zn–I2 cathodes. The study highlights how polyiodide confinement, charge transport, and host background together guide durable aqueous Zn–halogen battery design. June 2026
Farewell and Best Wishes
Warm congratulations to Jiawei Zou, Qiong He, and Wenqi Wu on successfully completing their studies and beginning a new chapter. We sincerely thank them for their hard work, commitment, and valuable contributions to the group, and wish them every success in their future careers. June 2026
Latest study in Advanced Functional Materials
In our latest work, we shifted iodide complexation from an electrolyte-additive strategy to a cathode-anchored design in solid-active-material Zn–I2 systems, achieving highly durable aqueous batteries with stabilized iodine chemistry, suppressed self-discharge, and ultralong cycling. March 2026
Promotion
Dr. Wu was promoted to Professor at 30, after another four and a half years, the same amount of time he spent earning his Ph.D.
