In our latest work, we shifted iodide complexation from an electrolyte-additive strategy to a cathode-anchored design in solid-active-material Zn–I₂ systems, achieving highly durable aqueous batteries with stabilized iodine chemistry, suppressed self-discharge, and ultralong cycling. March 2026
